Sodium Gluconate is a white crystalline powder. Industrial Sodium Gluconate and Food Grade Sodium Gluconate dissolve easily in water, slightly in alcohol, are insoluble in ether, and are non-toxic and non-corrosive.
We produce our Sodium Gluconate from glucose through chemical synthesis or bio-fermentation. Bio-fermentation technology is widely used for eco-friendly, high-efficiency manufacturing of industrial and food-grade sodium gluconate.
As a sodium gluconate salt, bulk Sodium Gluconate has excellent chelating and anti-corrosion properties. Made from natural, eco-friendly raw materials, our Food Grade Sodium Gluconate and Industrial Sodium Gluconate serve as ideal substitutes for traditional chemical additives and are widely used across many industrial fields.

◆Low dosage (0.03%~0.05%): Mild retarding effect. It only slightly extends setting time and mainly keeps slump stable.
◆Regular dosage (0.05%~0.10%): Stable retarding performance, the most widely used range for construction projects.
◆Excessive dosage (>0.15%): Setting time will be significantly prolonged, resulting in severe over-retardation and low early strength.
Recommended dosage: 0.03% ~ 0.10%, optimal range: 0.05% ~ 0.08%
Initial setting time extension:
0.03%: 2 to 4 hours (e.g. from 5h to 7~9h)
0.05%: 4 to 8 hours (e.g. from 5h to 9~13h)
0.08%: 6 to 12 hours (e.g. from 5h to 11~17h)
0.10%: 8 to 16 hours (e.g. from 5h to 13~21h)
If the dosage exceeds 0.15%, retarding effect becomes extremely strong. The setting time can reach 24~48 hours, even over 60 hours. Early strength will obviously drop, so please strictly control the dosage.
◆Stable performance at high temperatures
For summer construction at 30~38℃, it prevents rapid setting and cold joints. For example, at 35℃ with 0.08% dosage, the initial
setting time extends from 6 hours to 12 hours.
◆Ideal for mass concrete
It extends the workable time, reduces peak hydration heat, and reduces thermal cracking.
◆Excellent slump retention:
It greatly reduces slump loss and is perfect for 2~4-hour long-distance transportation.
◆Eco-friendly
Non-toxic, non-corrosive, and easily biodegradable, complying with green chemical standards.
1. Q: What are common issues and remedies?
A: Common issues include excessive setting retardation and reduced slump.
Solutions: reduce the sodium gluconate dosage, adjust the superplasticizer proportion, or change the addition sequence. Always
run tests to confirm the effect.
2. Q: Can it be used with sulfate-resistant or high-alumina cement?
A: It works well with most types of cement. However, cement with different compositions will affect retarding and chelating
We suggest doing mixing tests and adjusting the dosage accordingly.
3. Q: Does it affect freeze–thaw resistance and durability?
A: Proper usage won't reduce concrete durability. It helps make the pore structure more uniform and even improves durability.
Please optimize dosage and mix proportion to avoid negative effects on freeze-thaw resistance.
4. Q: Is it compatible with common water reducers (PCE, naphthalene-based)?
A: Sodium gluconate is generally compatible with PCE and naphthalene-based plasticizers. It improves their dispersion and slump
retention. Please run lab or on-site tests to find the best mixing ratio.
5. Q: How to obtain technical datasheets and samples?
A: Feel free to contact our sales or customer service for TDS, MSDS, and free samples. We also offer mixing test support and
formula suggestions.
ConclusionControlling bleeding in concrete made with polycarboxylate superplasticizer is a comprehensive process involving several factors. These include:※ Customized design of the polycarboxylate water reducers’s molecular structure※ Proper use of air-entraining agents and viscosity-modifying admix
At a GlanceDispersion effect: Anionic carboxylic groups adsorb onto positively charged cement particles, creating electrostatic repulsion that breaks down flocculated cement structures and releases entrapped mixing water.Lubricating effect: Extended hydrophilic polyoxyethylene side chains form a den
Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate (SNF) based admixtures are widely used as high-range water reducers in modern concrete production. By improving cement particle dispersion, SNF helps reduce water demand by around 18% to 28% while maintaining good workability and strength development. Its unique chemical
Global ocean freight keeps rising, with South America routes hit hardest. Traditional liquid PCE superplasticizer only has 40‑50% solid content. Water fills much of the container space, driving up logistics costs and increasing the risk of performance degradation during long‑distance hot sea transport. This article covers three main PCE forms: liquid, powder, and flake, and highlights the merits of flake or powder PCE superplasticizer. Cost simulation based on a 40'GP container shows that high‑solid solid‑form PCE greatly reduces freight cost per ton of active substance. With stable performance, long shelf life, low storage requirements, and good compatibility with ready‑mix concrete and dry mortar, it is a preferred cost‑saving solution for concrete admixture importers and distributors amid surging ocean freight.
